Food for the Soul

My Transformed Life-Part 2

Our car breaks down. Our washing machine stops working. I fall down the stairs with my toddler in tow. I get attacked for what I believe. Things I hoped would come through end up falling apart…Will I choose to be overtaken? Will I fall and not get up?

Burnout

Some may think all these things are just a part of life. But for me, this is more that just a “stream of bad luck.” When I said “YES” to God a few months ago for a mission he put on my heart, I knew there would be trials and struggles that would test my faith. When I am in deep prayer about things and moving in God’s purpose, a stream of “bad luck” makes me JOYFULL because I know I am doing what God wants me to do and the enemy doesn’t like it!  (See My Transformed Life-Part 1 and find out how it all began).

prayer-hand and girl prayer

On August 21, 2016 I was on my knees praying for God’s direction. Should I move forward with caring, sharing, and loving people with essential oils? How can I serve your people through this? I prayed fervently “God, I want to help others. I don’t know how or what to do. I want to encourage and inspire people. I want to support missions. I want to help others. Is this my gift? Is this my calling?”

That morning, when I opened up my Bible, this is what I read:

“Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with all the strength and energy God supplies. Then everything you do will bring GLORY to God through Jesus
Christ. All glory and power to HIM forever and ever!
Amen.”
1 Peter 4:11

Okay…are you feeling the chills? Because even as I write this, I am reliving that moment. I feel the chills like I did that morning when that God moment of truth happened. The Lord used the same words I prayed to Him and spoke them right into my heart through HIS Word. It was like I was having a conversation with Him over a cup of tea in my living room. My answer couldn’t have been more clear my friends. I immediately sent an email to my husband explaining what happened along with the verse and like me, the answer was as clear as day to Him and both of us were in agreement that this is OUR mission.

joyfull charity
As I continue to open my heart to Him for this purpose and mission, I wake up with ideas overflowing in my heart. I get so excited watching God move. But even with God’s promises fulfilled on this mission, there are also attacks on the mission. Things that have been discouraging, frustrating, and even caused me to question this journey. Times I am physically and emotionally worn out and wondering “Is it worth it?” But when I have been knocked down, I rise up again keeping my eyes on the prize and purpose God has put before me. I have taken 1 Peter 4:11 and wrote it on the wall right next to my desk so that I can see it every day as I set out on this mission. I WILL NOT GIVE UP! This is my transformed life!

1-peter-411

Open your heart and allow God to use you. Don’t be afraid of the trials you may face. Don’t be afraid to step out of your state of complacency. Get shaken. Move. Be bold. Be courageous. God can do mighty things when there are willing vessels. His purpose for you will be different than me, but together, united in HIM, we can all fulfill HIS purpose on this earth. Be transformed for Him.

This song really speaks to my heart as we walk in faith. May we always keep our eyes above  the waves that come crashing over us. Keep our eyes on Jesus!

Let’s Talk

Have you had a “God Moment” when you felt the touch of the Lord speaking to your heart? Have you experienced trails when you opened your heart and said “yes” to God? Was your faith strengthened?

Would you consider partnering with me in prayer for this mission and for me and my family.
We step forward in faith believing that we have prayer warriors who are covering us in prayer
as we reach out to support missionaries, charities, and touch lives in our local
communities.
Pray for me as I teach classes and open my home to families to
encourage them and help them achieve their goals in health
and wellness while raising funds for our mission.

Thank you!

    1. You are so sweet! Thank you so much for your inspiration and encouragement. I always LOVE when you come visit. I feel like we are having tea at the local coffee shop and chatting about the 80’s, mommyhood, homeschool, life, and whatever else comes to our mommy-fog brains! Sending hugs to you my friend! Blessings.
