5-minute Original BBQ Sauce

We love to BBQs in the summer, and well…actually all year round. But we have to watch the amount of sugar we consume. So that inspired me to create a BBQ sauce that still had the sweetness and depth of flavor of a regular BBQ sauce with less sugar. I use coconut sugar which has a lower glycemic index than table sugar and molasses, which has added health benefits. While this BBQ sauce is not completely “sugar free” it works for us as a fresh alternative to other full sugar BBQ sauces. This BBQ sauce whips up in minutes so it is ready to baste your favorite meats. It is tangy, sweet, and delicious. enJOY!

5-minute Original BBQ Sauce

1 cup coconut sugar
1 1/2 cup organic ketchup
1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 Tbsp molasses
1 1/2 tsp spicy mustard (deli style)
1/4 cup white wine vinegar (I have also used Apple Cider Vinegar)
2 tsp paprika
2 tsp salt
1 tsp garlic powder
1 1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp hot pepper sauce


  1. In a blender, combine all ingredients in order listed.
  2. Blend until smooth.
  3. Store in glass jar in the refrigerator until ready to use.
  4. Store about 1-2 weeks.
